Saweet Johnny!

Everyone, meet Sweet Johnny. Or who I like to call Fitta - 'sweet' in Faroese. Johnny is one of the students at Vejlefjord and is one of the sweetest people I have ever met! He is a very gentle person, and is softly spoken. Such a sweet guy! ANYWAY! One night a few weeks back, Johnny told me an old Faroese legend. It's a really cool story! I filmed it so that I could share it with you all :)

International Football Tournament

The weekend of the 1st of March was a FULL ON weekend! I was lucky enough to play in an international football tournament. I also have no photos of this either! Terrible I know. I will have to hunt some down and upload them later. BUT!!! Now you know I am skilled enough to play international football ;)

4Given and Inspiration week

The last week of February was Inspiration week. We were fortunate enought to have Tihomir come and bless us with his message and his incredible Voice! Boy oh boy that man can sing! It was great to hear what he had to say, IN ENGLISH!!!

We were also luckily enough to have 4Given come and perform 2 concerts at our school! 4Given is a male aceppella gospel quartet from Slovenia. They are incredibly talented.
They asked me to sing with them for two of their concerts, and it was fun to get up and perform with them. They were so tight, so my mistakes (and believe me, there were many!) were very clear.
But it was fun, and done with a joyful spirit, so I guess it doesn't really matter. Jesus would have liked it I'm sure :) There is a video of one of the performances, but I don't have a copy of it. I will see if I can get one and upload it! But in the mean time, these photo's will have to do!

Fastelavnsfest

Wow, it has been over a month since my last post. Where did the time go?

SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED!

I have been so crazily busy, and I am worn out to no end, but it has been fantastic!

So, the weekend of the 22nd was awesome! I got to experience my first uniquely Danish celebration. Fastelavnsfest was really fun! It is a mix between celebrating lent and halloween, if you can imagine what that would be like! So some of the senior students hosted an evening party and everyone got dressed up. It isn't like halloween in the sense that the costumes were scary, they were just fun. However, that being said, some of the boys have scarred my innocent eyes for life!

This is a human lamp cashing in some candy.
This is Dennis, or should I say Denise? This hanging barrel is a special Fastelavnsfest party game. I don't remember the official name, but from memory it has something to do with hitting a barrel with a cat in it. It stems from a tradition from way back, where a black cat would be put into a barrel and the barrell would be beaten until the cat was dead, or the barrell was broken and the cat escaped. The cat would then be beaten to death. Horrid I know. It actually bought tears to my eyes when I first heard what it was all about back in the day. From memory, it was based on superstition! Heavy days!! DON'T WORRY!!! NO ANIMALS WERE HARMED IN OUR GAMES!
Our barrell was filled with carrots!
An interview being carried out by the lovely Ronelle
Signe and Tasja dressed as toddlers! SO cute!
Miley, the Po Po and Miley.
(Miley is actually dating Miley)
The human whoppie cushion. He asked me to pull his finger. Hilar.
 Two of Vejlefjord's finest damsels.
Lucas, or should I say Lucy? and Cecelia
 Blindfolded-hand feeding Flodeboller!
The whoopie cushion and two turkish gents.
Finally, the Jolly Genie.

It was a great night. Full of laughs and some very disturbing costumes.
And what was I you might ask?
Magican Caitlin of course!
